Home Made Knife Block
I saw some beautiful knife blocks over the years. Really gorgeous designs and finishes. Some rubbish ones too. And I always wanted one myself, and so did my brother.
I was a poor student at the time (yes, yes this post has been “pre-dated” to make it appear in the correct archive) and my brother could not afford to spend the asking price on one (the beautiful ones are typically very expensive) What to do?
Simple, make a sketch, buy the wood and spend a day at the university workshop.
I chose maple wood, as its antibacterial properties make it ideal wood for kitchen utensils.
