  • Training Dan Chi Sau (single sticky hand) Left hand a lot harder than right hand. I seem to not get the bong not quite right. From the palm strike, maybe lead the bong by raising the elbow first? Mind goes scrabled eggs after almost one hour of Dan Chi Sau.
  • Arrow walking (chasing punch) exercise. Keep knees bent, walk smooth, without raising the head

Sifu Shawn very kindly offered to allow us training in the green hut on Saturday morning. It has to be said, that he’s not charging us for it, and I’m not sure if the council lets us use the centre for free, so maybe he’s even paying for the rent himself? With or without costs involved, it’s his weekend too! I have a lot of respect for his generous attitude and dedication!

  • Learned next moves in the Siu Lim Tau, freeing yourself from a bear-hug. Hands slide down on side, eblows out to weaken the “hug”, hands reach back to height of kidneys and palm back towards opponent. This pushes into opponents abdomen. Followed by Gum Sau.Gum Sau is the downwrd block against a kick/knee attack. Performed on same side as attack!
  • practiced Dan Chi Sau with Merlyn. New moves, Roll hand below from Fook Sau and punsh into abdomen, roll hands outwards from Tan and strike with palm against face, punsh with free hand for change of sides.
  • judge correct distance to opponent in Dan Chi Sau!
  • Arrow walking.

After 40 mins brain is scrambled eggs. But happy to learning new things and refining techniques.!

Music: Hauscka Ferndorf

in Music Crate

In my crate this week:

I bought three Hauschka CDs recently. Directly from the label’s website.

Three CD’s directly from the independent label is probably the best chance that the creative artist get a decent share of the money.

Awesome stuff,

Hauschka’s Label: Fat Cat Records

in environment,forest

It’s this time of the year of  intense colours,  the low warm ray of the sun streaking in jagged beams through windows, leaves and parks. The air humid and with a cool chill to the skin, the silence only broken by the bristle sound of beechnuts, acorns and chestnuts breaking the first fry leaves on the forest floor.

Bliss.
